Authority of the New Testament?

Could you tell me your position on the authority of the "New Testament"? Meaning, do you place it's content on par with the "Old Testament" and its writers, or do you give varying weights, if any, to its authority?

Of course I do... though it is only properly understood and interpreted IN CONTEXT, and that means regarding it as Jesus and his followers would have regarded it. In other words, I give the "old testament" a logical priority in reading the New Testament, since reading the other way around often leads to "preposterous" conclusions.... Shalom.
